코튼웨스트 재사용 세계 최초 의류용 GRS 인증
문형태 대표이사역사와 신뢰의 면방 업체인 신한방직(대표 문형태)의 친환경 소재 브랜드명 ‘앤에이 지알에스’가 ‘2020 대한민국섬유소재품질大賞’을 수상한다. 세계 최초 의류용 GRS(Global Recycle Standard) 인증을 받은 지속가능한 특수 면사다.
면사 생산 과정에서 버려지는 코튼 웨스트를 재사용한 면사로서 신한방이 추구하는 지구 환경 보호의 대표적인 아이템이다. 100% 면 원료의 조합에 따라 인위적이지 않고 자연스런 이펙트가 발현되는 것이 특징이다.
신한방직은 기존에 아무 생각 없이 지구 환경에 적합하지 않은 원료로 생산된 의류를 소비하는 것에서 탈피해야 한다는 대전에서 이 특수사를 개발했다.
이는 최대한 미적인 욕구를 훼손시키지 않으면서도 지속가능한 지구 환경 보호에 적합한 원료로 원사를 만들어 의류를 생산할 수 있도록 하겠다는 담대한 목표 아래 초점을 맞추고 실현했다. 의류용 면방적 전문 업체로서 의류용은 물론 잡화용으로도 사용하도록 했다.
전 세계적으로 선진국들은 지속 가능성에 대한 인식이 상당 부문 성숙된 상황이지만 국내 섬유 업계나 소비자들은 아직까지 큰 관심이 없는 것으로 보여져 이를 선제적으로 제품에 반영해 선도하고 있다. 소비자들도 관련 의류 제품의 원료가 어디서 공급되는지 모르고 멋과 편리성을 추구하고 있어 의류 제품의 기준과 지구환경의식을 고취시키기 위해 신한방이 앞장선 결과다.
따라서 방적에서 생산할 수 있는 거의 모든 종류의 친환경 원사에 대한 공급이 가능하지만 ‘NA GRS 리사이클 코튼얀’의 경우 신한방직에서만 생산되고 있기 때문에 이 부문에서는 타 방적 업체들보다 한 걸음 앞서 나가고 있다고 보아도 무방하다는 것이다.
또 이와 관련 레이온 계열의 원료 역시 친환경 단체인 캐노피(Canopy)에서 전 세계 31개 재생섬유 생산 업체 중 환경을 해치지 않은 방법으로 원료를 조달하는 1위 업체인 ‘렌징’에서 생산되는 각종 원료를 사용해 원사를 생산하고 있다. 바로 이같은 지구 환경 중시 경영전략이 신한방의 경영이념과도 같아 레이온 역시 친환경 공법으로 생산되는 에코베로(Ecovero) 사용을 유도하고 있다.
